Japan Autumn Highlights — 20 to 30 October 2026
Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka, with guided experiences and free time built into the itinerary.
Fly to Japan and settle into Shinjuku
Depart Sydney with Cathay Pacific in economy class via Hong Kong. Arrive at Tokyo Haneda Airport in the evening, where a private transfer takes you to Hotel Rose Garden Shinjuku.
A free day to explore Tokyo
Ease into the trip with a full day at your own pace. Explore Shinjuku, visit Meiji Shrine, discover Harajuku or take in the city views from one of Tokyo’s observation decks.
Full-day Mount Fuji and Hakone tour
Join a guided bus tour from Tokyo to the Mount Fuji and Hakone region. Lunch is included, with the exact sightseeing route depending on weather and local conditions.
Another day to make Tokyo your own
Use your second free day for the part of Tokyo that best suits you: traditional neighbourhoods, shopping, museums, food experiences or an optional theme-park day.
Travel to Osaka by Shinkansen
Make your way to Tokyo Station and board the bullet train to Shin-Osaka. Ordinary-class reserved seating and a large-luggage reservation are included. Continue to Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka for five nights.
Full-day Kyoto and Nara tour
Travel by coach on a guided day tour covering highlights of Kyoto and Nara, including well-known temples, shrines and cultural sites. Lunch is not included.
A free day in Osaka
Explore Osaka Castle, Umeda and Dotonbori, or use the day for an optional visit to Universal Studios Japan.
Discover Osaka through its food
Join a guided Osaka food tour featuring 15 dishes and three drinks across five local eateries.
Your final full day in Japan
Keep the day flexible for shopping, sightseeing or a nearby day trip depending on how much extra travel you would like to add.
Private transfer and flight home
